Repository building for Berlin State Library, including the headquarters of the image archive of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, Berlin (D), mention

This design concept is based on the desire to allocate a clearly-defined section to each of the building’s three users – Berlin State Library (SBB), the Ibero-American Institute (IAI) and the image archive of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation (BPK). This is to be achieved whilst also ensuring that the building complex makes the impression of a cohesive unit – from the first to the last of the three construction phases planned from now until 2060. The concept sees the three users share an entrance building and utility area. Repository units have been designed in module format and can be developed on a phase-by-phase basis on either side of this entrance building structure.
