House K, Trierweiler-Sirzenich (D)

All elements of rural architecture identified in the centre of the village of Sirzenich were adopted and interpreted in a contemporary way to create this new development. Haus Kindorff, the result of this process, takes the form of an ensemble comprising a main building, ancillary building and front yard. The main building houses all living areas, with service rooms accommodated in the “extension”. The constructions are connected by a light passage from which all rooms can be accessed. The wonderful views from the property’s hillside location down into the Mosel Valley encouraged us to move living spaces onto the first floor.
