House WS, Ernster-Niederanven (L)

The house stands on a long, narrow parcel of land with an unobstructable view to its east. In order to allow the maximum amount of light and sun into the building despite neighbouring development, we elected to give the house two lines of orientation: The kitchen opens onto the terrace and swimming pool on the east side of the building, while living space opens southwards onto an inner courtyard. Bedrooms are located on the upper floor and face either east or west. Workrooms face south onto the inner courtyard. The stairwell is lit by a skylight due to the windowless nature of the north façade.
