New construction of a joint library for Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and the University of Osnabrück
With the advent of the “blended library” set to continue to alter the face of many libraries in the future, we attempted to arrive at a highly flexible structure which delivers a compact, efficient shared building.
Both libraries – and therefore both institutions – present themselves jointly to the town in the form of a large, consistent building which uses architecture to underline their cooperative model.
In order to fulfil the requirements of both libraries, we designed a robust framework which can be filled with various functions and components – just like a shelf.
