Residential building, Luxemburg-Weimershof (L)
Located on a park-like plot, this residential building consists of three stacked stories with identical floor plans. Each individual residential unit extends across an entire storey.
Architectural concrete “boxes” included on each storey fulfil three functions. In addition to performing the role of load-bearing structure and housing “service” rooms such as the kitchen, bathroom and dressing room, they also define “served” rooms such as the living area, dining area and bedrooms.
Box exteriors are acid-etched, creating a smooth, attractive surface. They are colour painted on the building interior. Expansive glazed sections between boxes represent the point of crossover between the building and the outside area.
The English basement provides communal space for the three residential units. Each residential unit is allocated with a double garage and a large room for parties, a sauna or other leisure activities.
